Tokom 26 do 29 septembra, u Hotelu Hills održana je četvrta Sarajevo Model UN konferencija koja je okupila preko 100 mladih učesnika iz raznih dijelova svijeta.

Ponosni smo što Sarajevo Model UN '19 predstavlja simulaciju rada multilateralnih organizacija i što mladima nudi jedinstvenu priliku da prošire svoje znanje i unaprijede svoje soft skills učestvujući u simulaciji vijeća UN-a, te zanimljivih panela i radionica. Vijeća koja su simulirana su: Vijeće sigurnosti UN-a, UN Women, i Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija.

Tema ovogodišnje konferencije bila je #MyImpact. Fokus je stavljen na mijenjaje perspektive koju imamo prema Agendi 2030, želeći da se više pažnje pokloni individualnom i kolektivnom doprinosu prema implementaciji Ciljeva održivog razvoja. Jedan od ciljeva konferencije da omogući učesnicima da se upoznaju sa načelima multilateralne diplomatije, uspostave nova prijateljstva i što je još važnije, unaprijede međuljudske vještine kroz interdisciplinarni edukativni pristup.

Konferenciju su posjetili i uvaženi gosti koji su bili dio panela ili predavanja sa ciljem da se mladima podigne svijest o Ciljevima održivog razvoja. Govornici koji su konferenciju obogatili svojim govorima bili su Nj.E. Matthew Field, Britanski ambasador u Bosni i Hercegovini, te Nj.E. Sezin Sinanoglu, rezidentna koordinatorica UN-a u Bosni i Hercegovini. Neizostavno je da napomenemo da se konferencija organizuje u partnerstvu i uz podršku Ujedinjenih nacija u Bosni i Hercegovini.

Organizacijski odbor, uz podršku Sekretarijata, dali su sve od sebe da pomognu učesnicima da prenesu svoju strast i dalje razumijevanje multilateralnih organizacija, ne samo kroz simuliranje multilateralne diplomatije i formalnih debata UN-a, već i kroz niz akademskih predavanja sa eminentnim stručnjacima. Kao rezultat, Sarajevo Model UN već tradicionalno obrazuje i inspiriše novu generaciju diplomata, globalnih građana i aktivista za promjene.

Preliminarni rezultati evaulacije konferencije

Anketa je anonimna i distribuirana je na dan 29/09/2019 svim učesnicima konferencije i sadrži ukupno 9 pitanja. Zaključno s danom 03/10/2019, povratne informacije o konferenciji dostavilo je 51 osoba, a u nastavku se nalaze ključne informacije o utisku učesnika o Sarajevo Model UN ‘19.

Odgovarajući na pitanje kako bi ocijenili Sarajevo Model UN ‘19, 56,86% ispitanika je ocijenilo s “odlično”, dok je 29,41 % ispitanika odgovorilo s “veoma dobro”. Ocijenjući konferenciju sa “dobro” odgovorilo je 11,76% ispitanika, dok je 1,96% ispitanika odgovorilo s “loše”.

BHA UN će u narednom periodu izvršiti detaljnu evaulaciju konferencije, a sve kako bi unaprijedili utisak konferencije.

The Fourth Annual Sarajevo Model UN conference gathered over 100 participants from around the world held at Hotel Hills from September 26 to 29

We are proud that Sarajevo Model UN ’19 represents a simulation of the work of multilateral organizations, which provides a unique opportunity for young individuals to expand their horizons and improve their soft skills by engaging in simulation of UN councils; but also an opportunity to engage in interesting panel discussion and workshops. At Sarajevo Model UN '19 the following councils were simulated: UN Security Council, UN Women, and World Health Organization.

The overarching theme of Sarajevo Model UN ’19 was #MyImpact. A special emphasis was put on changing the perspective towards the Agenda 2030, in a hope to put more attention to individual and collective contributions towards implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. One of the goals of this conference is to acquaint the participants of the principles of multilateral diplomacy, make new friends, and most importantly to advance their interpersonal skill set through an interdisciplinary educative approach.

The conference itself was also visited by distinguished guests that partake in panel discussions with an aim to increase the awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals among the conference participants. The speakers that provided an immense contribution are the following: H.E. Mr. Matthew Field, British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and H.E. Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is important to note that the conference is organized in partnership and with the support of the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Organizing Board, with the support from the Secretariat did their best to help participants convey their passion and further understanding of multilateral organizations, not only through simulating multilateral diplomacy and formal UN debates, but also through a series of academic lectures with eminent experts. As a result, the Sarajevo Model UN has traditionally educated and is educating and inspiring a new generation of diplomats, global citizens and agents for change.

Preliminary results gathered from the conference evaluation form

The poll is anonymous was distributed on 29/09/2019 to all conference participants and contains 9 questions in total. As of 03/10/2019, conference feedback was submitted by 51 individuals in total. In the text below, please find key takeaways from the poll respondents.

Answering the question how would they rate the Sarajevo Model UN ‘19 conference, 56,86% of respondents rated it as “Excellent”, whereas 29,41 % of respondents have rated the conference as “Very Good”. Rating the conference with “Good” have opted for 11.76% of respondents, whereas only 1,96% of the respondents have rated it as “Poor”.

In the upcoming time, BHA UN will conduct a detailed analysis of the evaluation form, all in order to increase the conference experience in future editions.
