BHA UN at Multisectoral Consultations on SDGs in BiH
From May 29 - 30, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Association for United Nations participated at Multisectoral Consultations/Workshop on SDGs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultations brought together more than 90 representatives of Public Administration, Government, relevant experts, and organized under the auspices of the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the Opening Ceremony the following high-ranking officials have addressed the audience:
- H.E. Dragan Čović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- H.E. Sezin Sinanoglu, UN Resident Coordinator in BiH; and
- H.E. Anders Hagelberg, Ambassador of Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aim of this event was to discuss Sustainable Development Goals, its current and future implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to establish a framework for implementing 4 SDG thematic groups (people, planet, prosperity and peace & partnership).
The president of the Association, Mak Selimovic congratulated H.E. Sezin Sinanoglu, UN Resident Coordinator in BiH, on the organization of this productive convening of experts and civil society representatives. Furthermore, he stressed on the importance of Sustainable Development Goals, and its relevance in the light of development of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an inclusive, just and peaceful society.
Bosnia and Herzegovina Association for United Nations would like to congratulate the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina on a successful organization of a productive event that shaped the framework for the future implementation of the SDGs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
